Istanbul, historicaly knows as Byzantion and Konstaniople is the most fazsinating City in Turkey.

Istanbul covers a total area of 1,530 square kilometers, which today are over 15 million inhabitants (1970, 2 million). Annual growth is at 150,000 - estimated 350,000 people. This makes it the largest city in Turkey (Ankara 3 million inhabitants) and the largest seaport of Turkey is also in Istanbul.

It combines the only metropolis in the world two continents (Europe & Asia) and is located on the banks of the Bosphorus (Bogaz), the strait between the Sea of Marmara in the south and the Black Sea in the north of Istanbul.

History:
